Business Challenge

The Problem That Needed Solving.

Stellaudio was designed to bring professional music creation, artist distribution, and community engagement into a single mobile first web application. The goal was to deliver a browser-based digital audio workstation (DAW) that provides a responsive, intuitive experience across devices while supporting professional audio production features such as real-time playback, autotune, timeline editing, input device management, and volume controls. In addition to serving artists, the platform needed to operate within highly secure correctional facility environments. This meant ensuring compatibility with restricted hardware and closed networks while also providing correctional staff and platform administrators with the tools required to safely manage content and users.

Resolving

How We Approached It.

We built Stellaudio as a modern, mobile first web platform that combines powerful music production capabilities with a creator focused social ecosystem. Artists can record, edit, and produce music directly in the browser, share their work with the community, sell merchandise, and distribute releases to major digital streaming platforms. To meet the unique requirements of correctional facilities, we worked closely with NCIC Correctional Services to optimize the application for secure environments. Alongside the artist experience, we developed a dedicated administrative portal that enables correctional staff and platform administrators to manage users, oversee platform activity, and moderate audio content, including the ability to review and censor explicit language before content is made available.

Development Process

How We Worked Together.

Development followed a collaborative, iterative process involving product stakeholders, engineering teams, and external partners. Close communication throughout the project allowed us to balance the demands of professional audio production with the usability expectations of a mobile first application. A key aspect of the project was our collaboration with NCIC Correctional Services, where we worked together to validate the platform's performance, security, and compatibility within correctional environments. Regular feedback also shaped the administrative experience, ensuring staff had practical tools for content moderation and platform oversight.
